Lyonel Feininger was during the 30’s in an artistic residency in Halle, in which he produced several works about the city. The re-interpretation of a city through the eyes of a foreigner (Lyonel lived many years in Germany but died in New York) was a strong connection during the whole residency between Sol Rezza in Halle and the story of the painter.

Julia Berg was the second wife of the painter, whom he knew while traveling on a train; Feininger split with his first wife and married her. Julia was also a great artist and her point of view greatly influenced Feininger’s works.

Lyonel Feininger estuvo durante los años 30 en una residencia artística en Halle, en la que produjo varios trabajos sobre la ciudad. La reinterpretación de una ciudad a través de los ojos de un extranjero (Lyonel vivió muchos años en Alemania pero murió en Nueva York) fue una fuerte conexión durante toda la residencia entre Sol Rezza en Halle y la historia del pintor.

Julia Berg era la segunda esposa del pintor, a quien conocía mientras viajaba en un tren; Feininger se separó de su primera esposa y se casó con ella. Julia también fue una gran artista y su punto de vista influyó mucho en las obras de Feininger.
